Visual Risk Technologies provides 14 days of on-site training and
installation as part of The Stafford Act Solution Package to ensure the
emergency manager’s ability to use the software tools to produce the
mitigation plans as well as to ensure that the emergency manager is able
to plan and respond to a variety of incidents.
• VRiskMAP™ Training – During VRiskMAP™
training, we focus on teaching
and developing the basic skills necessary to create maps, define hazard
impact areas, produce reports of critical locations and JPEG maps for
printing and distributing. We allocate time to work with locally
produced databases or to develop new databases required by the
organization.
• MitigationPlan.com Training – We do all MitigationPlan.com
training directly on the Internet, so that we create the actual plan as
the user learns to navigate the system. As the user learns to use the
website, we enter current data about the community, hazards and the
mitigation goals and projects. At the end of the training, we print a
plan to share with others. and we begin the public participation
process.
• Train-the-Trainer – As with the standard MitigationPlan.com
training, we train mitigation planners to become trainers within their
jurisdictions. We conduct these train-the-trainer sessions directly on
the Internet, with emphasis placed on using the tools and functionality
of the web site so that the emergency manager can create a plan at a
later time.
• Group Workshops – We can arrange special mitigation workshops for
planners from multiple jurisdictions to come together in one central
location to begin work on their individual plans. We conduct a group
training session over the Internet during which all attendees work on
their own plans. Concurrently they communicate with each other about
specific issues and interpretations.
We also offer consulting expertise on the mitigation planning process.
Based on the requirements of the individual emergency planner, we can
conduct the basic training or we can work closely with the planners to
assist in the complete preparation of the final plan.
