VRiskMAP™ Mobile Mitigation Unit

The VRiskMAP™ Mobile Mitigation Unit brings the power and functionality of the various software tools into the field for use before, during and after a disaster.

The Mobile Mitigation Unit uses a Fujitsu Stylistic LT P-600 Pen Tablet computer, a fully functional hand-held computer with the following features:
• Weighs less than three pounds
• 10” wide - 6.5” across – 1” thick
• Windows 2000 operating system
• Pentium lll 600/300 Mhz
• 256MB RAM
• 15 GB hard drive disk
• Touch-screen technology with stylus

Using this powerful computer to run
VRiskMAP™ and the MitigationPlan.com system, the user can leave the office and continue to input and modify data as well as produce detailed maps from on-the-scene information.  This unit is especially useful in locating and documenting critical facilities and infrastructure, collecting information about damaged locations, and analyzing response plans in real-time during actual events.  To aid in the use of this technology for pre-disaster planning, real-time response, and post-event recovery, Visual Risk Technologies has incorporated the following additional features into the Mobile Mitigation Unit:

• GPS Technology – A standard GPS unit is attached to the Pen Tablet computer to provide the user with an accurate reading of the latitude and longitude location of the unit at any time (with a satisfactory connection to the satellite network). With one click the unit will change the position of the local map to show the current location, which can then be added to an existing database. This feature is exceptionally useful when a user needs to add a critical facility or damaged location information to the map and database.
• Digital Photography – With the digital camera the user can take pre- and post-disaster photos, pre-fire plan photos, and safe-school plan photos – to name a few. The user can easily attach the digital camera to the Pen Tablet system and transfer (copy) the photos to the hard drive and link to the appropriate database. This link allows the user to find the location using
VRiskMAP™ and view the attached photos.
• All-weather Case and Peripherals – For use in the field, an all-weather case is provided.
• Additional Features - A suite of peripherals including a docking station, a portable keyboard, a USB mouse, extra protective screen covers, and an additional stylus are provided.
